Need to know more about the resorts? Here's a bit more about Cardrona and Treble Cone so you know what to expect at each ski field:
A great ski field boasting a Chondola (chairlift crossed with a gondola) to get you up the hill and on the snow even faster. Cardrona Resort is a great option for families, with excellent kids facilities both for childcare and ski school, Cardrona has a variety of restaurants and cafes and excellent on snow progression options for beginner and advanced skiers and snowboarders alike.
Cardrona is also home to some of the best park facilities in the Southern Hemisphere, with a long park line showcasing a multitude of different features, including 3 different sized jump lines to aid in progression. Cardrona features an Olympic superpipe, an International Halfpipe, as well as the massive (25 metre) Big Air. With plenty of other varied terrain to work on your freeriding skills, Cardrona is a great mountain for park rats wanting to level up over winter.
Queenstown and Wanaka locals have been committed to Treble Cone for years and for good reason. Treble Cone plays host to some true alpine terrain, with bowls and chutes a hot feature for adventure lovers and some excellent hiking terrain available for the die-hards. With the steeper terrain a key feature, this is a resort for the more experienced – however, Treble Cone does have an excellent learners slope that you can ski on.
